Dia de los muertos

I am forever changing my the style of my nails, it's a bit of an obsession! Last year for Christmas I received a set of Nails Supreme Nail Art pens and they are definitely my fave present! They are really easy to use and come with a small piece of metal allowing you to clean the nib if they get clogged. You can also re-use them, so when the colour runs out, you just have to clean the bottle and re-fill them with any colour you wish! I definitely would recommend them and they can be purchased here for only £19.99.

I regularly use these pens to create different designs. Below shows the particular nail varnishes I used to create the vine and skull design. I always use Maybelline Salon Manicure top coat as it gives a really nice high shine finish!

This is how it turned out! It was quite difficult drawing the skull on my own nails...but where there is a will, there's a way!

Let me know what you think :)

Keep on chasing down that rainbow...

This is a painting I was asked to do for a friend, using acrylics on canvas. I thought I would post this so you are able to see how I work from start to finish. I've been told by a lecturer before that I shouldn't draw the picture out first... but that's how it works best for me! I am pleased with the final outcome... I am just hoping that the person I am doing it for likes it!

Mix and Match ...

As you will soon learn, I enjoy doing anything which is a bit arty!

I thought I'd start with a project I did a while back! I really enjoy drawing/painting the human figure/face mainly because of the intricate detail and individuality of each person - it makes things much more interesting! I like to set myself a difficult task...and with being a perfectionist (very annoying at times) I like to ensure I paint/draw every little bit of detail I see!

The two facial images are done with pencil crayon and the other have been painted using acrylic paint! I really enjoyed creating all these pieces as the textures and colours of elderly skin create a big visual impact, especially with the hands and the transparency of the skin, showing through the vibrantly coloured veins.

Let me know what you think, any comments are appreciated :)

Starting out....

So, Hi everyone! Thought I would start blogging to share with everyone 'my creative life' hence the blog name (La Vida Creativa - the same but in Spanish ha!). I will be posting a variety of things I enjoy doing in my spare time such as my paintings, nail art and any other little bits of design. I hope you enjoy my work and give me a cheeky follow if you do! :)
